Proven Success helping Scotland Yard, wins a prestigious industry award for 3rd Forensic’s FILM database

At the 2013 UK Home Office Security Exhibition, new British company 3rd Forensic picked up a prestigious industry award which looks to recognise continued investment and innovation in countering security threats. The award was made to 3rd Forensic in partnership with the Metropolitan Police and their Forensic Image Linking and Management database.

This database is unique in managing unidentified images submitted to police from sources such as CCTV, mobile phones and social media from start to finish. The database has already produced results in linking images to violent and persistent criminals, offering stronger court evidence.

UK security industry is a world leader in the innovation of Advanced Engineering, Manufacturing and Services and this prestigious Award, now in its 10th year, recognises not only the innovative equipment and technology produced by UK companies, but equally importantly, the partnership between people on the ground and those prepared to put the time and skill behind the development and production of new and ground breaking technology.

Today we live in a world where security requirements change rapidly. Terrorists and criminals are ever more sophisticated in their tactics to commit crimes, the Police and Law Enforcement Agencies with the aid of ground breaking technologies need to be one step ahead. The UK Security Industry is a world leader in the innovation of Advanced Engineering, Manufacturing and Services. The ADS Security Innovation Awards are presented to the advanced engineers of equipment, technology or a service which is deemed to be unique and innovative.

The Security Innovation Award ceremony was held at the Security and Policing Dinner 2013 on 12 March 2013. The dinner hosted more than 250 guests from industry and marked the start of this year’s Security and Policing Exhibition which ran from 12-14 March 2013.
